Natural Instinct

Natural instincts come when young children are exposed to the world. They understand how the real-world functions through their own life. They learn by being mindful of their surroundings. One must be in a healthy society to learn how to love your own country or others.

“Patriotism is about giving love towards everything.” People are exposed and learn on their own, what they want to love, when they grow up. Humans in some remote places are taught to hate their own country as they are not given enough resources by the government to be able to live. There are also teachers living in remote places that teach their students of the worst about their country and best about other countries.

The three parts of patriotism are: Bravery, devotion and honor

  • Bravery
  • “I tremble for my country when I hear of confidence expressed in me” By Robert E. Lee
  • This quote shows that when one attains confidence, they will do anything to protect their country.
  • Devotion
  • “Patriotism: Your conviction that this country is superior to all other countries because you were born in it” By GB Shaw.
  • This quote expresses one’s devotion towards their country as they bloom.
  • Honor
  • “My country right or wrong, is a thing no patriot would ever think of saying except in a desperate case.”
  • This quote shows the trust one has towards their country

5 Meaningful ways to show Patriotism to your Country

  • Be there for all of your National Flag Hosting of your country
  • Support Archeological Sites as it can only withstand for a certain period of time
  • Participate in political process, troops and peace walks

Patriot

  • Patriotism is an inbuilt quality of a responsible citizen
  • Being proud of the nation
  • Take pride in the development of the country
  • Encourage the effort put in for better output

Devotion to your country

Mahatma Gandhi

The most patriotic Indian is (till date) Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi- Father of the Nation . He went to England to study law but ended up coming back to help his country get freedom from the British. Knowing that weapons would be dangerous he decided to come up with a more safe way to protest against the British. He followed “Ahimsa” which is non-violence. He also protested against discrimination, continence and Civil Disobedience Movement. He is also famous for the “Dandi March” which is the salt march. He took great efforts in trying to join the Muslims and the Hindus together, to fight for freedom against the British. Although we obtained independence from the British, Muslims and Hindus, split into Pakistan and India. Gandhi decided to travel around Pakistan and India as he considered it as his motherland. He never got the opportunity to visit Pakistan as he got shot in the chest. This true pride and patriotism towards your country.

Martin Luther King Jr.

He is known as the world’s most patriotic person to have ever lived. He led the “Civil Rights Movement” which is the most known movement of all times. As a child he almost attempted suicide because of his white mates treating him unequally. He taught himself how to be strong and brave and live up to discrimination and give the world the most astonishing speech “I had a dream”.

Conclusion

I know that patriotism can never be programmed but it can be driven into you by hate and anger against an opposition country. In today’s world most people’s natural instinct is to be loyal to their country in any way possible. Never underestimate the amount of power you have by just saying a few words out into the public through Social Media. From my exposure I come to a conclusion that patriotism can never be programmed but is a natural instinct. It can be driven by one’s gut or feeling but can never be programmed like a robot.
